After Ajay’s best friend and beloved dog Cain passed away…he nearly lost it. He took Cain’s death even harder than the other deaths that he recently experienced. He felt a strong need to disappear for a while. He hurried upstairs to Greta, who was already in bed and explained what happened. She was also devastated by Cain’s death, but her grief immediately turned to anger when Ajay explained his need to get away for a while. She could hear in his voice that he had no intention of bringing his family along. Ajay tried to get her to deliver the news of his going away to Daiyu and Deming, but she refused, saying that if he was intent on breaking their hearts, he had to do it himself.

Ajay goes downstairs to talk to Daiyu and Deming who are also mourning the loss of Cain. He sits them both down on the couch and tells them the same thing he told Greta. As expected they become upset and question why he’s leaving. Ajay tries to explain, but nothing he says makes sense to them. He pulls Deming into his arms and tries to comfort him, but Daiyu refuses any comfort. She gets up from the couch and hurries away telling Ajay that, “If you’re going to leave, then leave already!” (Note: I actually had screenshots for this part, but they were lost too. *tears*)

After everything is said and done, Ajay ends up in Granite Falls…just like he did when he first became a young adult. Only it’s not the same this time. He finds no solace out alone in the woods and he realizes that it’s because his heart is at home with his family. Still, he spends 3 days out there but only ends up missing Greta so much, that he begins to have very vivid dreams about her. He finds it hard to sleep and can only drift off after forcing himself to try to remember things like the number of freckles on her nose or the exact color of her eyes. Eventually, he dreams that she’s there with him, naked in his tent. In the dream, he tries to touch her, but she’s too far away…although she appears to be right next to him. She asks him, “Why did you leave me?” Ajay responds telling her that he didn’t, that, “I’d never leave you.” Greta in dream form cries tears of grief and says, “But you did. You left me alone to handle everything.” Ajay is startled awake by those words and knows that he’s hurt Greta a lot by once again only thinking about himself. He comes up with a plan to let her know how much he loves and needs her.

Meanwhile, back in Brindleton Bay…Greta and the twins attend Carla’s memorial service along with other friends and family members, including Ajay’s uncle Talib. Everyone joins them back at the house, Adwin’s old house, partly to offer comfort to Greta and the kids…but also because it happens to be “Sun-day”…the holiday where they celebrate the first day of summer. Greta does her best to provide food for everyone, but she’s not much of a cook, so everything’s pretty much a disaster without Ajay. One good thing comes out of it though. She manages to pull Talib to the side to find out what it would take to get the city to turn their old lot to a community park honoring the family. Talib gives her contact information on who to call and Greta begins to get the ball rolling.

The next day, Ajay returns home and after having a serious heart to heart with Greta…he ends up finally proposing to her, saying “All this time, I’ve been looking for peace and comfort in old ways, rather than rely on you – who’s been here all along…giving me everything I need.” In the end, Greta agrees to marry him. Fast forward a week later and they end up getting married at the new park located on their old lot…The Wallace Community Garden.

Things go pretty smoothly after that. Greta finally ends up making up with her brother Benji who is a changed man after he and Lucy end up back together and married. Her friend Leticia finally meets Ajay and sees him in a whole different light after she sees the house that was passed down to him. Greta’s continues to write books and rise up in fame.

As with any legacy…eventually, Sims pass away. Ajay ages up to an elder first, but it ends up being Greta who dies first. Much older and wiser…Ajay does his best to get through it in a much healthier way than he’s ever done in the past. He doesn’t run away, but he does sort of retreat into himself…losing a part of who he is with Greta. Ajay ends up living a very long life thanks to his very active lifestyle and mostly healthy eating choices. But even he passes eventually.

Generation 8 was going to be the first time I had two heirs. Rather than choose between Daiyu and Deming…I planned on playing them both. As young adults, the two of them leave for Selvadorado where they study archaeology with a group of 5 other students and a professor. Daiyu ends up being very much a free spirit and develops the noncommittal trait as a young adult. She’s carelessly flirty and ends up having an affair with more than one of the guys on the trip…while at the same time getting into a very flirty relationship with her older, but very handsome professor. That relationship doesn’t get past flirtation though, because the professor happens to be married. Deming, on the other hand, is more like his dad…a bit of a loner. At the same time, he’s very protective of Daiyu and does his best to keep her safe when she ends up being a bit too reckless.

When they return home, Daiyu gets discovered while at a lounge in Selvadorado and ends up being swept away by the call of fame and goes into the acting career. Deming stays by her side and serves as her manager…which he ends up being very good at. He ends up picking up a few clients, which takes some of his attention away from his sister. Her very flirty carefree nature leads her into a few more casual relationships, but one of those relationships results in a child. Only, Daiyu has no idea who the father is.

Well, that’s as far as I had gotten with the Wallace Family. My goal was to play out 10 generations, with the 10th generation ending after the childless heir passed away.  Thanks so much for reading!

A few last minute notes:

Mina ended up passing away on the same day as Carla. I just didn’t have the heart to include that at the time. I was going to announce it later.

Mazeli, Talib’s wife, also passed away around that time, but Talib still had many days ahead of him. They were around the same age, so I don’t know how that happened.
