I have sat here for 7200 seconds, trying to describe you in the most illustrious way possible. But comparing you to a thousand blazing suns doesn’t do justice to the eternal sparkle in your eyes. Declaring you as the lighthouse which my battered soul so desperately needs while sailing the rough seas of life doesn’t explain how my heart beats to the rhythm of your name. I have spent tens of thousands of thoughts contemplating your smile, and how it could turn sinners into saints and politicians into charity workers. I have listened to your voice, and it plucks my heartstrings in a way that no Mozart or Bach ever could. I have watched the wrinkles that form by your eyes when you look at me, and I have wondered what it would be like to trace those folds of skin that hide their own little secrets.You could put me on a plane and throw me out to die, but I would ride the wind that craves your breath back to you. You leave traces of your laughter behind when you walk away, and it fills my lungs with the sweetest sort of sadness because loving you is like trying to catch smoke - you’re always slipping out of my reach.
