Ahhhh I keep seeing people make this 'argument,' that Jews should stop propagating their 'otherness' because that's what leads to antisemtitism! What the hellllll, like /yeaaahhh/ it's totally the Jews that brought that upon themselves, tOTaLLy. No Jews have ever assimilated with non-Jews, only to be separated again and have their Jewishness emphasized and condemned by others. NoOoOoOo *massive eye roll of the century*
i am very suspicious that the person making that argument is at all jewish, because that kind of sentiment is just so perfectly oblivious to anything that has ever happened in our history.
i just can’t imagine how minorities are supposed to not separate ourselves from the wider culture and at the same time maintain any sort of connection to our own culture. the majority is just going to keep resorting to more and more examples of what we do to stay separate until everyone is exactly the same.
