The yandere Blocktales fic will be called “What A Fool Believes”. It’s based off of the cover by sElf. I think a lot of their songs align with my version of Blocktales (especially from their album Gizmodgery).
It’s an isekai story with a 20-something-old queer nonbinary reader who's a huge fan of Blocktales, who finds themself transported into the game right before the rewrite update. Them being enby and queer is very important to the story. Since it aids into their reluctance to return to “reality”.
Basically, Y/N doesn't treat anything seriously and flirts with everyone cause they think this is all a dream.
When Y/N realizes that what is happening is indeed real, they fight like hell to go back to the life they’ve taken for granted. But now they’ve got a lot of people way too attached to them. It’s a horrible messy situation that makes Y/N reflect on themselves.
I want it to be a commentary on escapism and unhealthy coping methods. But also the importance of independence and growing up to face the real world.
I still have A LOT to write. But I can’t wait to continue it.
