Impressions of Kaunas
The church above is the church of St. George the Martyr. It was one of the first churches in Kaunas and was built at the place of a former wooden church before 1503.
Throughout history it has been damaged many times, for example during wars with Russia and the Napoleonic wars. It was converted into a medicine warehouse during the Soviet occupation of Lithuania. The church has been recovered between 2005 and 2009.
