@vvcsker // continued from here!
Jill was convinced of two things as they moved together in rhythm. Albert Wesker was jealous of Chris, and more confusing for her specifically, Albert wanted her. His statement was probably meant to sound innocuous but she could feel the tension radiating off him as his body stiffened while he spoke. She could feel it most prominently where his hand rested on the her back, his grip almost possessive for a moment before he returned to normal.
The first realization was something Jill could use, though she loathed the idea of bringing Chris into her charade, even just a little. The second was…useful in it's own way, but far more confounding as she felt her body respond. Keep your head about you Valentine, we're not here to catch feelings.
"Yeah, Chris is a really good guy," she said with a small smile. She scanned the crowd until her gaze landed on her friend, who was looking at her utterly dumbfounded. Jill simply gave Chris a small shrug and returned her attention to Albert.
Her heart skipped a beat when Albert called her stunning. She had certainly been trying to make an impression, specifically for him in fact to draw him in. Though she couldn't see his eyes, it wasn't hard to imagine a heat burning behind those sunglasses. Maybe she really was flying too close to the sun on this one; but how could she back out now? She was already stuck within the gravitational pull between them.
That fucking line. The blush that flooded her cheeks was genuine no matter how hard she tried to deny it. God damn him for whipping out the charm, and god damn herself for falling for it. She could try to convince herself that what she was doing was for the benefit of uncovering his secrets, but she knew deep down that she was following some unseen force now. Jill reached up to his face with her free hand and plucked his sunglasses off his face. She tucked one of the temples in and perched them in the deep V of her dress, directly between her breasts.
"Now that you have an unobstructed view…are you enjoying the show?" Her eyes found his, peering into the deep ocean of his gaze as her hand found his shoulder again, placed just so that she could run a thumb gently along his neck.
