CARING FOR SICK MUSES / ACCEPTING !

' which is how she ended up laying in the hallway , exhausted . all max had wanted to do was get herself a snack , but her grand plan was undermined by the rather nasty cold she's got . stiles has seen her in worse shape before ----- namely the time in third grade they'd both had strep throat and spent two months ping - ponging it back and forth ----- but this is a little different .

for the first time since her hospital stay , she's sick . maybe her immune system is weak from being in antiseptic - scented hell for however long , but either way it's not exactly pretty . in fact , the whole thing is uncomfortably vulnerable . ( at least , she thinks , it's stiles taking care of her . at least it's someone she trusts . ) and it's lucky that she has diana , who dutifully followed max's command to find stiles when she finally got too tired to keep trudging towards the kitchen . ' i didn't fall , if that helps . ---- i was crawling and got tired . ' somehow that doesn't sound much better .

breathing is heavy, chest rising and falling in panicked unison with the heart that thudded heavily within it. he could hear the screaming bouncing off those tiled walls in his head, he could feel the familiar fear creeping up within him, as if it were traveling through his veins and slowly taking him over inch by inch. and he pulls back sharply, looking around the room for a second before wide - eyes fall back upon the woman beside him. this was too much, it was all beginning to become too much and truthfully, he wasn't able to stand it any more.

❝ we need to stop ... ❞ he voice is rattled at best, a pitch above normal as he shifts uncomfortably beside her. while ego could provide some padding to what he swore he could and could not handle, in reality, it was a much different story than what he lead on — though, wasn't that always the case ? it's not as if adam was very forthcoming in his day - to - day life as is, he preferred to stick it out alone, more comfortable in the presence of those he photographed than anything else. and that sentiment had only grown, much, he'd say, would probably be to the dismay of the one and only jigsaw.
