When I made the original edit of Let’s Play House(and I had the lyrics ready), I knew that I couldn’t just make a poppy number about clubbing and house and NOT do the best I could to make a proper capital J JACKIN’ remix. Back to Jack is an alias I’m in the process of setting up for the more straight up house/techno stuff that plops into my skull, materializing with a bazillion neurons firing off. 🤯 Whoa. ’nuff on that…: This track is straight up groove: I was 🎧 listening to a lot of Tran Records stuff on @spotify (the recent anthology compiled by the awe-inspiring Bill Brewster). The complex simplicity of those mixes, and how I can only guess they were made, inspired me when I set out to make this delightful bit of pure, here, queer, and rough, tough, Jackin’ house joint. 🔥 😈 

I wanted to try to make various mixes in different subgenre’s of House music for the Let’s Play House EP. This first one I made, the VT Club Mix, was inspired by mid-to-late 00’s @ministryofsound mixes for their Annual’s. Think “Call On Me”-era Eric Prydz, but in my own wonky, economical take — replete with 90’s piano and string riffs at the end.

It’s taken almost a year plus to get this out and I couldn’t be any prouder. Lot’s more is underway and coming out this year.
