We have liftoff! Today's Soyuz flight carrying the third set of four O3b communications satellites have been successful. This is the 10th Soyuz vehicle to have been operated by Arianespace and launched from French Guiana. Currently, the Fregat Upper Stage has completed its initial burn. It will reignite two more times to place the four satellites in their proper orbits. The first three images above are the Soyuz at liftoff and shortly thereafter. The image marked 5:10 is from a rocketcam on the Soyuz's third stage shortly after ignition. The rest are different stages of the vehicle's flight as depicted by Arianespace computer simulation.

We are less than 2 minutes away from the launch of an Arianespace Soyuz launch vehicle with the third set of four satellites for O3b Networks.  The Soyuz is the medium class launcher operated by Arianespace, which launched the vehicles from Europe' spaceport in French Guiana, South America.
