here's the full light world background of page 19. realized my text kinda blocks out ramb here but this is kinda why him + queen (and swatch) are all talking in the one panel :) just now realizing i meant to switch the lineart color to be darker rather than lighter but i think this still works considering most of it is covered up anyways!
Toriel and Asgore's wedding photo is hung up in the living room on page 2 (i tried to mostly match it to the description from the one in Asgore's house from the game - toriel holding 7 flowers and rudy being off to the side. and a certain other reindeer off to the side. teehee). I couldn't find a way to super elegantly put it into dialogue but i wanted to imply that Tenna was a wedding gift bc i think that headcanon just makes the knife twist of everything that happens with the dreemurrs and him just that bit more painful :^)
Closeup of the drawings on the floor in page 18. The rudinns are supposed to reference the flying aces. also the red ball and "coat hanger" jack on the floor here along with the green crayon being the most used. Also im sorry mike heads there are no green dice in this comic. im a firm believer in small mike / battat / mippins / whatever you wanna call him coming into the picture after spamton is gone and well. this comic is before even all That. ill have to make it up to u guys one day ok.
At one point I realized i would need to have the TV playing something for things to make sense and ofc theres much i could put there (debated putting a reference to MLP) but then i realized i can do whateevr i want forever and decided to throw one of my OCs in there. and it turned out to be a perfect way to throw in a thematically appropriate FRESH FROM THE JUICE!!!! reference. everyone say hi mandy. hi mandy. she's included here as a treat for one of my friends who loves her very much for putting up with all my deltarune yapping
this ones also from page 19, the posters in the background bc i needed something to fill the wall. the fact that theres an actors union (i believe its referenced if you fail one of the minigames) in tv world cracks me up. Tenna your goons are unionizing. theyve made a goonion. and of course. giant handsome apron wearing older husband poster. there were gonna be more people in the green room in this shot initially but i didnt feel like drawing them so i just fucking Did Not <3
page 17 is probably one of my favorite pages out of all of them and panel 1 (above) is one of my fav panels in this whole thing just bc i find it particularly cute. The map in the background, though hidden with all my overlays, was meant to reference the geography /coastline of Massachusetts. again you can barely see it (and i do naught feel like opening up the file again you will just have to trust me. ok.) but the thought was there.
people seemed to catch on that Elnina and Lanino's designs subtly change in the other pages compared to their designs on page 17! Gaining eachothers colors :)
Second panel of page 17 includes a mizzle in the water cooler (yes ive gotten my ass kicked by that thing. many a time) and also includes me!!!! or well. my sona as a shadowguy. in the background working on a comic. The light tables in this panel were completely self indulgent (the whole page is tbh) bc i missed working in the animation studios at my college lol
Additionally in page 17 the panel with Ramb, the banner above the concessions has the letter "A" patched onto it to hint at whoever making the banner (tenna. probably.) getting his name wrong ("Romb" opposed to Ramb) and then fixing it later. i like to think thats why theres that one question in the quiz area asking about who runs the stand. this is kept consistent for the other 2 panels the banner appears in later on :)
and these little guys are also like the singular instance of Nosed tenna in this comic. they delight me. On the same page, Ralsei is wearing the Dealmakers:
aaaand lastly. a small collection of my evil #myevil. i knew going in that i wanted to do a bunch of framing using the lord of screens prophecy diagonal cut thing either with the paneling or using effects. Probably my fav of the bunch is the 4th one here of it being framed over his shoulder. Something something accepting his role not just in the household but in the story as well.
^ some of you guys also caught onto the strings / phone cord in the shadow of some of spamton's appearances! its something i tried including to try and reference his whole. Benefactor thing in that whoever it is is kind of guiding him through this conversation. He's meant to be in his "rising" big shot era and I referenced specifically that one shot glass they have of him for his design!
