A quick walk through (under 2 min) of our new VR game FANTABULA for VIVE / Oculus coming out soon! Explore, climb, and evade monsters!
Designing in VR | Interactive Spatial Design
This Unity scene was built to serve as a prefab template that includes a lot of useful VR features. This example also serves as an orientation room for demoing VR to new users. Here the users can learn how to move around and interact with objects in the VR.
Features include:
Interactive/grabbable objects (VRTK)
Interactive drawers
Teleportation (VRTK)
Animated objects (clouds, graphic messages)
Oculus Avatar SDK (hands/controllers)
Spatial audio
Video textures
Complex 3D models built with VR creative tool Gravity Sketch and Google Blocks
Controller instructions
Real-time lighting
Floating Particles
Easter eggs

NewtonVR | VR toolkit for complex interactions
Friendly with Unity, Oculus, VRTK and others!!
“NewtonVR allows players to pick up, drop, throw, and use held objects. Items don't pass through other items (rigidbodies), or the environment (non-rigidbodies). Rather, held items interact with other rigidbodies naturally - taking mass into account. We include a simple collision sound framework. And it works with both Oculus and SteamVR cleanly, with more to come.”

VRTK | Unity Toolkit for VR Development
“VRTK is a completely free, open source (MIT License) solution that solves many problems in VR such as locomotion, interactions, Controls and more. It aims to provide developers with access to as many VR platforms as possible and currently supports SteamVR and Oculus SDK. You can already download VRTK version 3 from github at http://vrtk.io or from the Unity Asset Store.”

I was having a bunch of problems with the game after some VRTK updates. I finally bit the bullet and rebuilt the project with the latest VRTK and Unity. Took two days but I now have flawless VR/desktop UI interaction, Oculus support, and no runtime errors. Whew.
For me the best way to really learn and play is starting with something that works and then swapping out assets and copy and pasting stuff into different scenes.
The VRTK Toolkit is a great resource for doing this. It has ways to move around the scene (teleporting) and also making this usable where you can pick them up etc. They also have a Youtube channel which can be helpful.
