"OT"
Before I started taking video production class this term, I made a promise to myself that I would make a short horror film that would really scare the living daylights out of me. I think I barely fulfilled that promise.
For the record, I hate myself for giving up the first time I try to do something that requires time and patience so this is just some kind of reassurance that would tell me that I don't have to push myself to top other people's work, when in reality, I am only just being hard on myself.
Honestly, if you will ask me if I like this, I will truthfully say no to you. There's too many elements in this video that can induce cringe and other bad reactions from moi. Despite of this, I am proud that my first lighting job paid off (though after the first 2 shots, we're technically blind with only 2 redheads working as the other 1 decided to burst transporting us into a state of panic).
Anyway, this is inspired by Asian horror films, which I am extremely drawn to, by the way. There's something about the silent and glacial pacing of Asian horror films that, for me, makes it really effective in terms of generating fear among its viewers. Also, the plot and the underlying themes of it makes it superior compared to badly made and over-the-top Hollywood horror films.
P.S. I want to thank my group mates for making this film possible.
