Can we take photos in Red Dead Online AND Storymode?
Yes! Whether it’s RDR1, RDR2 Storymode, or RDR2 Online, you’re welcome to submit pictures from any RDR game.
Can we only use the camera?
While RDO doesn’t have the perk of ‘Photo Mode’ like RDR2 Storymode, we welcome screenshots, photo mode captures, and in-game camera photos.
NB: Future Photography events may put an ‘in-game camera only’ restriction for an added challenge, or you can try it yourself for a little spice.
Can we use mods?
Yes, game-mods are fine!
Do I have to post every day/do every prompt?
While that’s the challenge, it is not a requirement in the slightest. You are free to pick and choose which prompts you’d like to do and when, this challenge is just here to inspire and motivate.
Do I have to adhere to the prompts?
The prompts don’t have to be taken literally (i.e. Cabin = a picture of a cabin), we encourage everyone to be as straight forward or as obscure and abstract as they like.
Can we feature game characters? OCs?
Yes and yes - whether you’re featuring your favourite gang members, npcs, or your RDO OC, they’re all welcome to be featured.
Can we use filters?
Any in-game filters, effects, or adjustments are absolutely welcome. If you prefer to do post-processing outwith the game (PS, apps etc.) you’re welcome to do that too.
Can I still use these prompts when the event week is finished?
Absolutely! Whether you couldn’t take part because you were busy or just uninspired, these prompts are always available. For as long as people tag their responses with #rdrVirtualPhotographyChallenge we will reblog them :)
