My first 3d print went great!
I got a Voxelab Proxima 6 4k for Christmas, and last night I printed out my first Battletech lance. It went GREAT!
The only downside is the reeking stench of the resin. I'll be swapping over to Anycubic brand resin, it's low-odor and plant based and comes recommended highly by someone I trust.
Hardest part (and none of it was really 'hard') was trimming away all the supports post-print. Removing from the print bed? Dead easy, took me 20 seconds with a metal scraper. Leveling the print bed? A few minutes with a hex key, got it right the first time. Prepping the file was effortless with the included slicer software, and the print only took about two and a half hours. Even cleaning afterwards was just a matter of spraying stuff down with alcohol and wiping up.
So now I have the first lance for - depending on the point in the timeline - my Taurian Guard lance ("Corzo's Cutters", later "Corzo's Bastards") or my merc company ("Blunt Company", the same guys after "the incident"). A Crab, a Yeoman, a Vindicator, and a Toro.
Pics to come after they're cured and painted. B)
