It wasn’t as if she hadn’t tried to take a moment to breathe. Ragged breathing ravaged the young woman as she gathered as much energy as possible to contain herself. The last thing the mother wanted was to show her son how terrified she was. So close to simply giving in, her tears broke through. Olivia sat beside her son with knees tucked against her chest as she leaned against him. It was the first time since arriving that she felt her body tremble from something that wasn’t lack of food or water. She was scared.
“I can’t do this anymore, Inigo... I’m done.”
Take it as he will, she didn’t want to fight anymore. A part of her wanted to stop fighting and let those monster catch her. The notion of dying to them struck fear in the dancer’s heart. There was only one person keeping her grounded right now and it was the thought that she would put Inigo through the same pain he had already faced; the pain of losing his mother. She didn’t want to keep fighting... Not with the danger never growing smaller... They were always on high alert and she simply couldn’t take it anymore.
“W-Would you hate me if I gave up...?”
