As she wrapped the baked good well and secure; she took a quick glance over to Hal. The vampire always had something to say; sticking his nose in where it didn’t belong; but she wondered how he knew such information. Was he following her; perhaps sizing her up for his next meal---it didn’t come as much shock if that were the case. Micha is quick to put his good into a paper bag and slides it onto the counter. She eyes him up and down once more; wondering why he would meddle his nose where it didn’t belong.

“no,  i suppose that i don’t,”    comes the honest answer.   grace wears a smile like it’s a weapon;   as though her teeth on display are sharp enough to dissuade the other through intention alone.   she’s been gone too long,  she thinks,  for this to be happening.   for this to be allowed.   she had left fingerprints across thomas shelby in the middle of the night,  let them burn into his skin;   called him hers,  as he called her his.   that was a long time ago now,  though,  wasn’t it?   she wonders how many times may has tried to do the same thing;   tried to claim a man that did not want to be claimed.   that could not be anyone’s,  because he was barely a thing of his own.   her heart aches for thomas shelby.   her heart aches for may,  for herself.   for all the destruction and chaos that would inevitably be left in his wake;   that would only cease to exist with his death.   her expression dampens,  only for a moment,  at the edges.   she sighs.   suddenly,  she desperately wants a cigarette.   or a shit load of champagne.   whichever may be in her disposal first,  grace has never been picky when it comes to such things.     “but i know him,  this,”     she answers,  delayed,  serious.     “he is as much mine as he is yours--    and that is,  to say,  not at all,”     her smile is sad,  now.   because this is the reality that she has come to find herself in.
