Hi. I hope not to be a bother. I'd like to ask for some advice if possible. Basically, I'm trying something new (writing, posting) and I haven't yet found my feet. My writing isn't terrible, but as anything new it's rough around the edges. I need to write to improve, of course, share it to receive feedback (hopefully), but I can't seem to be able to make myself post anything. While I don't know yet how to fix something I know there are things that need fixing. ... As a writer any copy editor, do you know of any communities or spaces that could be useful? I'm struggling with formatting/paragraphing and punctuation. I'm not in the U.S. but I'd consider paying for a service if it came with an explenation so I can learn.

Also having a fresh set of eyes can help make a piece really shine, even if it’s just a family member. I have my older sister or my spouse read my work to pick out continuity errors.
As for formatting, there are a few ways you can get through that. Looking up videos that will walk you through step-by-step as to what you’re doing has been a huge life-saver for me! But, with manuscripts, it’s important to make sure that your formatting is flexible. Some place require certain fonts, certain line spacing, and certain headers. Always make sure to check the submission guidelines. Not following them is the number one way a publisher will pass on (reject) your work.
