Voltron Animate Announcement
Signs ups close May 20th.
We are happy to announce the beginning of the Voltron Animate project! Our goal is the fully recreate the opening theme of Voltron, but to do so, we need to fandom’s help. We are calling for animators, regardless of skill, to apply to be a part of this project. Whether the project will go through is up to how much interest the project gains.
Applications will be open on the 24th of April if everything goes well, so please reblog or spread the word however you can.
So, what is this all about?
Voltron Animate is an unofficial fan-based project where animators and artists collaborate to recreate the opening theme of Voltron: Legendary defender. This project is inspired by other reanimate projects like Gemanimate and Moon Animate, Make-Up!
Accepted applicants will be assigned individual shots from the original opening. The participants job is to re-animate the shot in their style and unique composition. Depending on how many applicants, the shots will be around 1-5 seconds.
The amount of spots for participation is still undecided, and will be confirmed when we have a good idea of how many applicants there are.
When all the shots are finished, they will be compiled into one long video and shared on social media.
Any animators of any skill level can apply to be a part of this project, though animators with a higher skill level a more likely to be picked. Any type of animation is allowed.
But artists, do not fear! We are also calling for a couple background artists for some still shot. There will be a separate form for those who want to apply as a background artist.
Applications have not yet been opened, as we would like the project to gain traction before calling for animators. If everything goes smoothly, a google form will be posted for animators to apply on the 24th of April. You will be expected to submit examples of your work for both art and animation.
Feel free to ask us a question about the project over on our ask. More details and specifications will go up after the applications go live.
If you would like to see this project to progress forward, we would really appreciate people to spread the word a bit.
