A yellow house in the curve of the Bhimtal bypass road offered a great upper floor which became the Studio working space for Himalayan Architecture & Planning. In the last seven months, amidst the winter hailstorms and dry season forest fires, we placed a magnificent table made out of five different kinds of timber as the central element in our Studio. The massive table is perfect for design meetings, spreading out larger drawings and it also offers a comfortable working area for six.
With Er. Anjan (part time), Sabina and Kartikeya joining in September along with the committed SPA Delhi interns, Divyansh and Preyanshu who both worked on HAP projects from our sister organisation SMA in Nepal, the team is flexible and growing.
What also has been growing is the garden ! After the removal of thousands of bricks, the increased soft landscape offers space for a massive collection of roses, hibiscus, Italian and Indian herbs, strawberries, corn, beans, a few fruit trees and a sprinkle of some gloriously patterned flowers.
