From @delta-orionis: This does beg the question of why there aren't any voidspawn around Five Pebbles' structure, though, aside from at the base of The Leg where it meets the Memory Crypts.

Well, I think that voidspawn specifically enjoy the memories of those departed, or those who enter the cerebral realm! Moon essentially died, or got as close to death as an iterator could seemingly get

The reason there is an increase in voidspawn even after she is awakened may be for two reasons, or both at once:

Moon is considered an old memory, her neural matter free for the taking

Moon is being followed by the voidspawn

Or even...

Memories PRODUCE voidspawn by interacting with external planes directly

So why doesn't Pebbles get this?

I do have this very abstract post, which is essentially saying that iterators themselves are not able to visit these realms with their minds, but rather predict them and attempt to reproduce the results (hence the amount of qualia FP is messing with)

Void is like a container, it slowly collects emotions as it travels the cosmos.

Once that the container (Void) is filled it with emotion, it releases it and reincarnates itself. This "new" Void is an echo of all that emotion and determines how it will act until the next rebirth.

But the released emotion sets out, it is attracted to a species that can have emotions themselves, so you're not going to get a Voidspawn Fly; this wandering can take a few years to a few million years.

It "enters" the species and the next born of their kind is a Voidspawn. The emotions only somewhat determine the Voidspawn's personality, more like a slight tug instead of a driving force.

The Void Touched Emotions will enhance one of the four Life Matters in the newborn and eliminate the rest. (The Life Matters are Dark, Heart, Dream, and Soul; they all represent an aspect of life: Dark, Power; Heart, Emotion; Dream, Ideas; and Soul, Life)

The new Voidspawn CANNOT have one of the matters that aren't present in the body, so you can't have a Dream based Darkmatter.

I probably forgot something and didn't realize some details, so questions are welcome.
