The void had always been a comforting thing to the Broken Vessel, even when xey had been locked away trying to find an escape to the seemingly endless Abyss. After all, they were made of void; it would be hard for xem to not find the darkness that was a core part of xyr being to be of some comfort.
Still, this was unusual. The creature standing before xem seemed unrecognizable, and yet all at once, xey felt familiar. Too familiar. It was almost eerie, leaving the vessel strangely on-guard despite their inner feelings telling xem that, whoever or whatever this was, xey were trustworthy.
They took out their wooden sword and clacked it against the ground a few times just to get the thing’s attention, as the void-being had been looking the other way, and with xyr size difference it would likely be easy to miss the vessel. They sheathed the meek weapon just as quickly as they had drawn it though, holding xyr hands up to show they meant no harm before beginning to sign.
‘I know you. Why do I know you? Who are you?’
