This character is called A for the time being.

History: Both A and Nadine have lived in Parton since childhood. The summer Nadine turned 12, she was gifted a skateboard by an older friend at school, and she quickly found a passion. Through this passion, she met a group of other skateboarders, one of whom was A. Though most of this group saw Nadine as a kid of oddity, A and her actually connected.

Soon, the pair were spending most of their time together. In high school, Nadine realized that A was being abused by their father, and eventually reported this to the high school guidance counsellor, who contacted the police. Because of this, A’s father was arrested, and sentenced to four years in prison. Nadine dropped out of his life after this point, because she felt so guilty about telling the guidance counsellor. She never told A that she was the one to start the reporting process.

Now: A and Nadine drifted apart, and it’s been nearly five years since they saw each other and hung out. Maybe A went to college, and then moved back home. Maybe they never left. Their father is now out of prison, and their relationship to him / feelings about him is entirely UTP. Now, something has brought Nadine and A back together, and they will have to re-learn who they are.

Your muse: A native of Parton and related to Aveline on her mother’s side, so their last name can be anything. They can have more siblings if you wish, but I’ll let you decide after you join!

Their history: Aveline would spend time in Parton over the summers growing up because her mother wanted Aveline out of her hair. Your muse was definitely more outgoing and wild than Aveline, and dragged her around to parties around Parton and probably snuck out a good few times during that time. Aveline liked your muse enough, though it definitely was a relationship where your muse just wanted someone to buddy-up with at parties.

Bea’s full name is Beatrice Coleman, she’s 30 years old, and a lesbian.

She’s Alex Coleman’s younger sister, and the youngest of Alona and Herschel Coleman’s two kids. She and Alex were raised Jewish, but whether or not Bea still practices/identifies with that is UTP.

Her mother signed her up for cheerleading at the age of 11 to give her a better outlet for her energy and keep her out of trouble. She met Sage Carson at cheer camp, and the two were fast friends -- They’ve been best friends ever since. She cheered through middle and high school with Sage.

Bea’s a member of the Breakneck Broads roller derby team. How long she’s been on the team is UTP, but she is the one who roped Sage into joining.

Bea lives in two bed room house, whether she rents or owns is UTP, but Sage is currently living in her guest room.

During their time in high school and for two years after, Bea, Sage, and Alex were incredibly close -- They became a trio, within their friend group.

She had no idea about Sage and Alex secretly being together, and only found out when Alex accidentally let it slip during an argument with Sage’s ex-husband, in 2017.

Your OC would be Miriam’s ex-husband. What I initially had in mind is that he comes either from an upper-middle or upper-class family, with links to New England high society or its political circuit. In any case, he and Miriam would have met while both were working in Washington, DC. They would have shared the same set of friends, connections, and even enemies, and a working relationship soon translated into a romantic one.

In 2007, Miriam proposed marriage after some years of dating. For Miriam, marriage was the best economic investment they could make—not to mention how it would get their respective families off their back. While on paper theirs had seemed like a marriage of convenience, I do believe love was present in its own way, though they had fundamentally different ways of showing it. They had tried for children at several points during their marriage, to no avail. She eventually asked for divorce in 2017, following her father’s death, after which she’d relocated to Parton.

I imagine they’re the kind of people who get along better as friends than lovers, and thus are more emotionally well-adjusted than other divorced couples. Whether this is true or just for appearances’ sake is UTP. I’m flexible with all of these details, particularly the timeline of their relationship, the character's own backstory/motivations, and the direction in which their dynamic could go.

Your muse grew up in Greenwich, CT with Aveline OR went to the same boarding school as her if she identifies as a woman. Everything else is UTP.

Their history: As the connection type says, they’re frenemies, so there was always some sort of intense competition between them for whatever reason. I think they attempted to get on each other’s nerves pretty often. However, I think this was probably one of the only consistent relationships Aveline had in her childhood as she was a loner and definitely not into being “friends” with anybody.

Current relationship: Down for anything! Maybe they’ve kept in contact, maybe they’re re-entering each other’s lives right now.

Your muse: The only thing set in stone is that he’s a native of Parton, or at least has lived in Parton for a while. He has some sort of relatively stable job that can support two people, open to all sorts of ideas.

Their history: Your muse was the one who fell in love first when they first met at her father’s funeral about 8 years ago, and pursued her on-and-off for about 3 years. Aveline married him because she wasn’t sure how she was going to support herself (you can read more about the proposal in part VI of her biography) and he was very aware of how she didn’t really love him, but wanted to help her out.

Current relationship: I can imagine a few avenues for this relationship panning out that can be discussed in more depth.

1. They’re in a loveless marriage. Aveline married him out of convenience, and while your muse did have genuine feelings for her, they’re currently just together for appearances or perhaps, your muse has even entertained the possibility of a divorce. Future directions can be a messy divorce, infidelity, etc… bring all of the messy drama my way. I’m here for it!

2. He loves her, but she’s still wary of him. Possibly a kinder route where he’s still her protector and attempts to care for her even though she’s unreceptive. Future directions could involve a slow build-up of trust between them after a big turning point, or perhaps routing back to direction 1, where he realizes what a sham marriage he’s gotten himself into.

Honestly, I’m down for all sorts of different ideas and directions for your character and their relationship — I’ve kept it fairly open for that reason.

CONNECTION DETAILS: Time is running out on Dorian's student visa and she's considering different ways to try to stay in the country. She's joked about getting married for a green card, but never actually considered it - until your character offered. There's definitely room for this to become a romantic connection, but it doesn't have to be!
