ʜᴇʀ jaw is set in fresh annoyance, far too beside herself with the rages of her fire to even think of being civil. it’s not a good day when the snake meets the wolf, but in simple words they “ can” work in tandem -- but only in moments and only in sparks of well set fires burning bright within them. and their fires are well stoked today, for when it comes to lopping the head off of a loose -tongued rat, lee jongsuk and kim yerim have no quarrel with each other besides the obvious -- who gets to kill the double crossing pig.
ember has never dealt with betrayal lightly. her fists are iron and her tongue breathes hellfire to the wicked, and this is how she’s gotten her standing. ruthlessness in punishment and kindness for a victory -- it’s instinctive fear that settles in the blood of her kin that gives her safe distance, but still there’s love in their eyes for the mother who they want to make proud. the man before her: he is not a snake.
HE IS A COWARD.
and that’s why he’s bound to the chair with ropes that cut off the blood to his hands. she can only imagine how the wolf’s beta feels because she herself is livid -- after all, this man pretends to be a snake as much as he pretends to be a wolf. ( the thought of it disgusts her, consumes her. wolves should never lie with snakes. ) a click of her tongue reveals her annoyance at the situation; clearly they both have to deal with the double crossing but being in the same room as lee jongsuk still makes her feel so dirty. her preference would be to finish this as quickly ( as cleanly ) as possible, but there’s no way around it.
a betrayal such as this requires every violence, and for that she’s willing to sacrifice her skin for it. her heels click as she paces with her arms crossed, keen on not looking at her rival but rather, at the filth before her, tied and squealing like the hog he is. “ did you really think we wouldn’t find out?” her words are a hiss.
after all, she is a snake.
