Day 182: Things Are Finally Turning Around (For Ol' Lightning Belly) Hello Hello Hello! So, first off.... CONTEST! Whoever makes the best remix or cover of this one (as decided by myself) will receive a copy of the first 200 grooves (when they're done) on CDs or Flash drive (your choice!) in a hand crafted box containing an ultra limited edition (of 1) Groove Cat Figurine! This will have to be made into a video you put on the Youtubez- a song video would be neat, but if you can't wing that then a simple image with a song is totally good too! Or a dance video. (If you need/want sheet music, let me know- I can figure out a way to get you that!) About this one: I made this using the VL tone emulator that I am so fond of and three VL drum samples exclusively. Therefore, each line is monophonic (except one of the drum parts)- there are ten unique lines in this one, of which 6 are melodic. I was considering not using any effects on it, but in the end I added a bit of EQ and a large bit of reverb to give it a little bit fuller sound. Also, I am introducing a new character in this one- Ol' Lightning Belly has had a tough time lately, and has had a lot of anger his whole life, but he's making an effort and things are looking pretty positive. Maybe it's just the warm weather, but he has some hope, which is an important thing. Get On Them Covers!!! Justice McPleasePleasePleaseIReallyWantToHearThisPlayedByDifferentThings P.S.- I just learned about (and started talking to) another daily musician who has been doing this WAAAAAY longer than me, and has a lot of really tremendous songs.
