It seemed the decades of solitude had finally come to an end - whether or not Afi himself had wanted them to.

And - considering the company he now traveled with, whatever fates had spun his tapestry had an awful sense of humour. That, or a sense of sadism.

Whichever the case, the Veena definitely found himself tortured, even after the feeling of nostalgia had softened the experience ever so slightly.

"---And then the villagers of course were all 'Wow, Mister Viyan, you're so strong,' - because I am, you know, 'Thank you for slaying the beast for us!' And then they wanted to of course reward me, and---"

Afi's mind had drifted away bells ago, but it did not make his fellow viera's voice any more jarring. At least one of them seemed to love the sound of it.

"--And the beast came at me like Boom! And I was like Woosh! It couldn't even land a hit---"

With that amount of gesticulating, surely he would've been too distracted to dodge an incoming arrow or a knife? It was tempting, so very tempting - but the older viera also knew of the sheer, dumb luck his companion was blessed with. That, and he was still too stubborn to stoop as low as to stabbing someone into the back.

Though, perhaps slowly veering away from the path while the Rava was distracted...

"...'Ey, are you listening?"

Afi's blunt response was met with a quirked brow, and a bark of amused laughter.
