he'd be so obvious with his bias too. he'd laugh at someone for their interests then immediately turn to his right and say "but not when you do it, of course!" the instant his partner frowns. toby would also do this right in front of the person he just made fun of, both to rub salt into the wound and to show how much more special his partner is to him

toby's not the type of person to care very much about how other people feel. why would he? if he caught you crying about something you're passionate about, he'd make an off-hand comment about how "it's really not that serious" and move on. if he was your friend, maybe he'll pretend not to hear you or offer an "ah.. sucks" just to hit the friendship quota. but if you were his partner? he'd listen to you cry and rub your back. maybe he'd throw in a joke or two to lighten the mood, but he'll try his best to be attentive to your feelings. maybe he wouldn't care about it any more than a surface-level interest, but he'd bite his tongue and keep his usual snarky comments to himself for you

if we're talking in the sense of 'you' as a fictional character from a media he's into, i think toby would love handmade things. i don't really see toby as a particularly well off person back in his childhood, so idk if he'd value store bought things especially since a lot of merch are severely overpriced. i think he'd make handmade things that remind him of 'you', like objects associated with you. maybe if he'd stumble across merch of you in a victim's home, he'd take them with him. but i don't see toby as a splurging guy

i know that i write about sensitive things as well (i mean i'm a creepypasta author.. so..) but i feel like as an adult in a mixed-age space (you can say tumblr is 17+ all you want, i know there are minors lying about their age here), i have the responsibility to not expose kids to that kind of thing. it's one thing to do it myself, it's another thing to potentially expose people to that behaviour and normalise it

as a kid, that sort of stuff was normalised for me because i had unrestricted internet access, so every minor inconvenience has me doing that. but now that i'm an adult, i know i have the responsibility to make sure no other kid or peer experiences the same things i did. it's just the right thing to do
