Got a bit of deja vu with Zombie Stage
I really like how there’s more focus on Sua in this series. Interesting to see what happens when Mizi dies first instead of her (I mean, even though Round 1 ended in the same way as ALNST, technically Mizi’s already dead.)
I don't have the energy to analyze the first round of the zombie scene, so I'll run through the backstory of Mizisua and what I've managed to understand. And yes, the frames will not be sorted in the order that we were shown in the video.
I think it all started with something happening in Mizi's family, which is why the child is walking around with a huge bruise on his face, and (as I believe) suppressed anger. Judging by the footage, it took some time for Mizi to let her anger get the better of her-the standard victim's reaction to a traumatic event/violence experience. Sometimes a reaction can occur years later. There's nothing unusual about that.
Something else is unusual in this situation, namely, the Sua's reaction.:
Mizi looks pleased, because she's probably glad that she was able to vent the anger that was boiling inside her. It is quite natural for a child to show joy, even if it implies the joy of feeling relieved. It's a little creepy that this happens to a child, but unfortunately it's not new.
Children are the most innocent, and at the same time, cruel creatures.
And the fact that Mizi looks pleased is not surprising to me, given the context of the situation.
But, Sua? She looks too calm in my opinion.
Yes, there are calm children, but even they somehow react to different things. And well, in my opinion, the corpse of a rat from which organs fall out is, to put it mildly, not the most pleasant thing.
From this context, I can assume several options from which such dead-dead behavior can proceed: a) This is not the first time Mizi has taken out her anger on some living beings.; b) they live in a place where you can often see rats, their corpses and more disgusting things.; c) Sua's home life is so nightmarish that her psyche has been operating in "isolation" mode since an early age, separating her feelings and what is happening in the world with a thick wall. Another reaction of victims to violence, by the way. d) Either all of the above options, which…Well, to put it mildly, it's very scary.
The next shot shows Sua hugging her friend in an attempt to comfort/support her. It's a nice enough price, but it still doesn't answer questions about Sua's behavior.
For a long time, I couldn't figure out which one was the right one, but then, towards the end, they show us "this" frame, and some of the puzzle pieces fall into place by themselves.
This kiss is literally a red siren.
Because kissing a person who is in a state of passion after being released from long-suppressed anger, and who can't do anything to you because of exhaustion, well, to some extent it can be called violence. I believe Sua had good intentions, but with this action she confirmed the fact that some kind of nightmare was happening in her family. Because no one, especially children, takes anything out of thin air and they have seen this or that action/ line of behavior somewhere and at some point they may unconsciously repeat it in one degree or another.
This may not be the first time this has happened, and it's really hard to judge by these reactions. Besides, I don't have the energy to think too much about it.
I think we're being shown their youth here. It's cute enough to say that Mizi has problems with choreography, and Sua is off-key on some notes. I can assume that these details refer to their character, namely: Mizi is too sharp and rude for smooth movements, and Sua cannot play the main role and sing louder / be the only one who sings.
But this is just a guess.
Considering how they performed above (it was probably an audition).
I think they are 14-15 years old in these four screenshots, because firstly, despite their developed bodies, they still have an aura of childlike innocence, and secondly, the usual age of debut in the idol industry in Korea (where events supposedly take place) is 15-17 years. And they both look cute, which also plays a role to some extent, but more on that later.
It's great to see them happy. I think Sua wanted just such a life - a quiet, measured one, where they could spend time together in peace and quiet and graduate from the academy without any problems.
Considering the footage from their childhood, I can assume that Sua either suppresses her traumatized side, or has found something that helps her cope with trauma and enjoy her youth. Of this pink duo, she has the least flexible psyche, and the fact that she has found a way to move on is wonderful.
And it's obvious that Mysie has other desires.
Mizi still wants to become an idol, and well, it's hard to blame her. Many girls are led to this beautiful picture, they don't understand much about how everything really works inside. And it's unlikely that anyone will tell them the truth.
I am touched by her sincerity. She's so wonderful in her love of work:
It's hard not to actually fall in love with such a person.
And here, Mizi meets reality, namely that according to the "criteria" (ahem, type of appearance, ahem) only she is suitable.
K-pop has its own beauty standard. In J-pop, individuality is more appreciated. The group is not looking for painted beauties with a perfect face, but those who stand out from the crowd. A cute face is better than a beautiful one. In short, in Korea there are beauties, in Japan there are cuties. That's why Sua wasn't hired, according to the criteria, she has a "too cute type" that they will only want to work with in Japan. They love innocent little angels there.
On the other hand, Sua's cuteness saved the girl (which is ironic for her character) from the cruelty of the industry, and gave her the opportunity to go to high school/college to study (I don't really understand what period these events will take place, but it's like they're 17-18 years old).
The same cannot be said about Mizi.
(I can't help but notice that her first image as an idol combines bold and soft features at the same time, which is incredibly suitable for her.)
Because this bright flower, which definitely loves leopard print, will gradually begin to fade away under the weight and toxicity of the industry.
It is not known how much time has passed between these events, but it is obvious that the good things in Myzi life have become much less.
Like any lake, it all starts with a drop. I can assume that these are the agency's first attempts to promote Mizi in a more "adult" way. So to speak, to see how people react, there is a certain eroticism, but everything is quite censored. But it's already obvious how tired Mizi is. I doubt that this is part of the image to complement the "adult image".
As you can see, people (mostly girls) accepted her very well.
It's a very revealing shot that screams, "Yes, from that moment on, everything went wrong!"
And I have some thoughts about where Sua is in this situation. Namely, the girls were isolated from each other. Because agencies can interfere with idols' social media, their relationships, and other aspects of life. Mizi's messages, correspondence, and posts can be rewritten, dialogues and people can be deleted from her life, or posts can be written-her posts can be rewritten and published.
And judging by the footage from the video below, Mizi became quite a popular idol, which meant quite a lot of isolation from Sua (depending on the agency's attitude to their relationship), and also meant a lot of contracts, which meant stress and pressure.
Obviously, at this stage, their relationship is not in the best condition: Mizi feels like she takes the bouquet from Sua, and then waves it off. Sua is either horrified by this attitude and behavior of her girlfriend (?), or by her appearance. Or all of them together.
From this, two conclusions can be drawn: Mizi only at this moment began to be subjected to even greater objectification, or Sua was in information isolation all this time. Although in this situation again, one thing does not cancel the other.
But even despite her behavior, Mizi is obviously still able to experience the joy of meeting Sua. The same state of burnout and stress, when the sight of a loved one does not help, the attention from him is rather burdensome, but it was still nice to see at least a glimpse.
And then their relationship reaches the point of no return. Mizi is completely destroyed by the industry, and begins to "escape" in a not very healthy way.
Sua in this situation is either horrified by the fact of smoking, or by the fact that Mizi started smoking again (maybe there was something worse before), and is afraid that the situation will get worse again.
However, one thing is for sure, Sua is genuinely worried, but she meets aggression, which is normal. In terms of trauma, people often get angry/annoyed when someone tries to take care of them, perceiving it as an "imposition" or "restriction", or considering it a source of "unnecessary noise". There are actually many reasons.
And we find ourselves in a situation where, at first, Mizi unknowingly returns to a way of relieving stress from childhood, thereby zeroing out the progress she made in her youth, ending the work of the industry. Sua, as seen in the following frames (I think it's been some time since Sua was infected and found by Mizi), has also returned to the previous mechanisms.
vivimeng you sick evil genius fuck

replacing the aliens with humans is such a good idea, makes it more sickening to watch. because thats really how it is irl.
HELLO WHAT ALREADY???? WHAT
I'm also really interested in how the only men we see on screen that aren't in the crowd are wearing these black lamb masks!!! usually executioners DO cover the face with a black cloak of some kind, but also usually their body too. them being shirtless feels purposeful and similar to how mizi was sexualized on stage. but with all men in the crowd, I doubt there's people getting off on them the same way they do for mizi and sua.
so it could be something like a power fantasy? see these hulking, strong men rip one of the girls off stage and push her down to chop parts of her off definitely feels like a fantasy to me. and the masks!! there's an obvious call of "lamb to the slaughter" but the lamb being black changes that up entirely. black lambs make me think of black sheep aka outsiders, and satan with all his black ram and goat references. it's really interesting that that's the mask chosen for them!! it's purposely cute-ified like the men are just another part of the stage and not fully aware human beings committing these disgusting and exploitative acts, like you aren't meant to think too hard about their existence or aren't meant to blame them. zombie stage ily!!!!
