Vivianite – Brazil
rip ronin, you would have loved Vivianite
Vivianite must be one of my favourite minerals. I'm always fascinated by it's strong pleochroism exhibiting itself as a noticeable change of colour depending on what crystal axis is exposed to the source of light. Typically pearl black, it can show itself as well as translucent bottle green or azure blue gemstone. What's also fascinating about it is how chemically unstable it is - typically we can find it in bog / wetland areas rich in iron and phosphorus (from decomposed organic matter), however this hydrated iron phosphate decays over longer period of time into a mix of different materials - the product of which is commonly called Kerchenite.

Have you seen this pretty little rock yet?
This. Is vivianite😃
Depending on the environment your dead body gets burried in, you night grow these things. On you bones🎉
The bodies phosphates (you have in your pearly whites or bones) leech out into the environment. If said environment is wet and rich in iron, it interacts with the phosphate to form vivianite crystals!
When formed they are colorless but through contact with air they oxidise and turn a deep green or blue.
Get burried in iron rich, wet soil and let nature bedazzle your bones😃
Okay so apparently this really pretty crystal grows from decaying bones??????????????

I’m having ideas for the zombie story
Decided to make the gem version of Dressy for the DW gemview au. This is pretty much just the idea and concept for her looks. The light greyish brown parts on her leg and arm is fossil since Vivianite forms from stuff like fossils and decay. Her gem is located where her heart is, it also is similar to the rutiles gem being like shards and uncut and has fossil rock on the bottom of it. You can make your own interpretation from this if you want.
Au by @0n3b0r3dguy and @mrs-nightshade
Edit: her hairpin was probably made from some of the gem shards she found. I imagine her to be rather remorseful for the gems these shards come from, but still do her job so she isn't seen as disobedient and because in her mind it's her only purpose. Unless something were to happen at least.
