Vivianite | Tomokoni Mine, Colavi, Machacamarca, Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosi Department, Bolivia
Fun mineral fact :
There is a mineral called Vivianite
Vivianites are minerals with a mohs scale of 1.5 - 2 wich is pretty fragile
But the most fascinating thing is how do they grow ? They have another name ( the corpse crystal )
They grow where there is a lot of phosphore. Decaying plants, animals. Even humans. But they grow where the oxygen is low so normally their color is transparent.
But how do they turn green or blue ?
Vivianites oxydize once take out of the earth due to iron being one of the composent of the mineral.
Those minerals are fragile but have a beautiful green / blue color.
Dark color at first but if you out a light behind it, it show a beautiful green or blue color !
Have you seen this pretty little rock yet?
This. Is vivianite😃
Depending on the environment your dead body gets burried in, you night grow these things. On you bones🎉
The bodies phosphates (you have in your pearly whites or bones) leech out into the environment. If said environment is wet and rich in iron, it interacts with the phosphate to form vivianite crystals!
When formed they are colorless but through contact with air they oxidise and turn a deep green or blue.
Get burried in iron rich, wet soil and let nature bedazzle your bones😃
Okay so apparently this really pretty crystal grows from decaying bones??????????????
..
….
I’m having ideas for the zombie story
