Austin St. John 🦖

finally got this gorgeous photo of Austin in HQ!! ✨

story time:

so, to start all the way back... i initially saw 2 videos of Amy Jo Johnson show up in my suggested videos on YouTube - no idea why. then after that the video of Austin & Walter E. Jones came up – the one about Why We Left Power Rangers. i legit haven't watched Power Rangers since 1993/1994 (minus the Mighty Morphin movie that i bought, & have watched once). i was surprised by Austin & Walter's video, because i had no idea about anything that happened in the franchise. i never knew there were issues between cast members, i never knew there were money issues, i never knew cast members had done comebacks, & i definitely had no idea the cast is 100% thrilled to have been Power Rangers still to this day.

there was a time, right around that 94/95 time frame, that you got made fun of if you liked the Power Rangers still. so i guess that made me think ‘ok there's no way the cast members are into this idea that they were Power Rangers.’ boy was i wrong! ☺️ it's very endearing though that they are into it – i love it.

then, of course, after i watched Austin & Walter's video – i started watching more videos... then transitioned into watching Mighty Morphin again. it's cool to be able to watch it again, 30 years later, & notice everything this time around.

i always liked both characters: Tommy & Jason – with Tommy usually being a fuzz more of a favorite. but i definitely remember liking Jason a lot. i don't ever remember it being different cast members on Mighty Morphin, so i must have had radar and quit watching right before Austin, Walter, & Thuy Trang left.

so then we get to Austin who played Jason. i went on a little “photo dig” – as i usually do whenever i get into someone. i initially saw that photo in a little collage on @[westcoastvibezzz]'s Instagram account. it came right up in the search – despite the fact that it was posted in 2016.

i spent most of the day trying to find that photo & actually thought i needed to send a message about how to get it. somehow i found it... through Shutterstock. but then it showed up on a different photo website, with a much lower single-use license price. and i of course paid for the license of the photo.

that is not the original photo – i cut him out like a sticker & put him on a different background. 😎

wow, really? definitely feels like it's been a lot longer. actually it has been - I had it going on twitter &, I think instagram, a while before I created this tumblr.
