_Myself
My name is Àlex Ines París, a second year student majoring in Primary Education at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. My hobbies include painting, sketching “creatures” and, of course, movies.
My expectations for this subject are high, I expect to discover the relationship art can have with education, and how can we apply it in the classroom as future teachers.
This blog aims to serve as an archive for the work done in and outside Visual Education class.
A digital collection of art, creation and analysis of both artistic intention, pedagogical strategies and the relationship between the visual and musical dimensions.
Poster _PERFORMANCE
The Magic Forest: Dwarves
The art process of the creation of the poster, started by identifying the main characters, the two Tall Dwarves and the two Short ones, along with the bard playing the music. It was decided that, as the bard was the common thread, it would be represented by a ribbon of colorful notes. A flowing pentagram connecting the two parts in conflict. The underlying conflict was represented by the characters' expressions and the ravine between them.
Finally the colorfulness of the poster aims to create a fantasy ambiance and foreshadow the happy ending.
The materials used were acrylic paints and watercolor paper.

Storyboard _PERFORMANCE
“Inside the magical forest, one of the groups that lives there are the proud and stubborn Dwarves.”
“Among Dwarves, there are two main groups that are at odds with one another: The Tall Dwarves and the Short Dwarves. The Tall Dwarves are hard workers and are exploited by the Short dwarves due to their height which is too much for dwarf standards.
In the story, two Tall Dwarves are enjoying some music from a famous dwarven Bard and some ale after a hard day of intensive labor, but they are rudely interrupted by some Short Dwarves who rudely mock them shortly after arriving at the bar. Sensing the impending fight, the Bard tries to pacify his public to no avail, but due to the presence of unwanted visitors, the Dwarves decide to move the fight away from prying eyes.”
What is Sound Art? _SOUND ARTS
What would you do if you couldn’t see or touch art? Sound art proposes a different way to experience art: by listening to it.
We are completely surrounded by sounds: music, sounds, yells, voices, melodies, nature... From the noise of cars passing below our window, to our mother’s voice or a jingle in a commercial, we live in a noisy world.
Sound can be primal, modify and interact with our emotions, in fact, it’s used this way in almost all audiovisual productions we consume, so, why not use it as the primary media and source of artistic intent in art?
Sound artists are a diverse group, and use diverse methods and media.
Soundscapes collect clips of sound to create a recorded harmony in which we can imagine the landscape, seen in the works of Murray Schafer. Performances often interact with the public in outdoor public spaces, like in the artworks of Susan Philipsz, who played music below bridges, near water, in Glasgow. Sculptures too, called Sound Sculptures, are constructions that play sound with the actions of the winds, rain, waves and even our touch.
