It’s been 20 years since I fell in love with and was in Moab last. It’s been a long standing dream/yearning to return. It finally happened!!! I was a little sad to see how much it has exploded, but I guess that’s life... So much has been experienced in the last 2.5 days, here are the highlights/bullet points: DAY 1.... •Upon entering Moab, we quickly sought a place to take the dogs, preferably off leashes. The first stop a was only half the hike due to having to climb a steep section that I wasn’t comfortable with carrying Lumi up in the backpack, but we found a better, less trafficked place up the road to take a 5 mile hike up to an arch. •Drove into town for gas and groceries, then up to Arches for a beautiful dusk/sunset drive through the park. •This time of year is SUPER busy in Moab. Our style of parking/camping is winging it so we’ve had a lot of truck stop/gas station stops. We ended up at a little pull over parking area around 10. DAY 2... •NATE’S BIRTHDAY!!! •By the time we got up and ready to leave for the day it was naptime, so we drove around checking places out while Lumi napped. It was too hot to do much hiking with the dogs. 😒🤷♀️ •Splurged on a KOA site so we could shower/do laundry/do all the RV things like dump, get water and electric all refreshed. •After checking into the campground, we headed back out for another drive through Arches with more light so we could finish seeing where we didn’t the day before (ending at Devil’s Garden- damn it’s beautiful there!). •Headed for a Birthday/Cinco De Mayo dinner at a Mexican restaurant in town, that sadly was pretty mediocre at best. (So will have to make up for that later in the trip!) DAY 3... •Had planned to run the dogs at Sand Flats, but decided to hit the road for naptime. Plus Margi still seems pooped/a little sore from the first day of hiking. • Phew! That was a lot.
