Today is the second day of the New Year (大年初二). If I were in China, I would visit my grandparents on my mom’s side (according to tradition) with my parents. While younger generations receive lucky red envelopes from the older generations, this is the time show their love back. From this day on, people start to visit their relatives, and of course, you never arrive with empty hands. There’s no one standard rule in gift giving, but in general the gifts are quite practical and express lots of care. Here are some of the things that I remember bringing to visit my relatives. (We used to offer cigarettes and alcohol to grandpa. It’s bad for health but he loves them. ) #chinesenewyear #chinesetradition #chineseculture #visitrelatives #newyeargift #大年初二 #sliceoflife #webcomic #tinyeyescomics https://www.instagram.com/p/Bti-NkCBH8j/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=87w5q41igqdg
