The City of Waynesville and numerous community partners dedicated the much anticipated mural by artist Ray Harvey (www.rayharveyart.com) today at 1:30pm at the new Waynesville Dollar General at 1413 US Rt66, Waynesville, MO 65583. The mural was painted on the new Dollar General facing Historic Route 66 and was part of a pre-development agreement between the owner and the City of Waynesville for the beautification and promotion of the City, its history, and enhancing the attractiveness of the newest retailer to join the Waynesville business community.

Representing Pulaski County will be Kimsha Rosensteel from Honey Chile’ Please, Mary Tromblee from Drachenfutter, and Garrett Johnson (Dixon High School), Carson Clubb (Dixon High School), and Alexandria Holt (Waynesville High School) from Waynesville Career Center – Culinary Arts Program.  

The family road trip seems like a relic of a bygone era. In the age of interstate highways and affordable air travel, the modern world has made a considerable effort to move on from the Griswoldian urge to pile the family into a station wagon for a cross-country trek dotted with overnight stays in rustic campgrounds. Here’s the thing, though: Those road trips haven’t gone anywhere. And in Pulaski County, families can get up close with the wild Missouri Ozarks while cruising the most storied highway in the United States.

The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association local chapter 4-11 are hosting the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Missouri State Meeting Saturday, September 23rd during the Hogs & Frogs Festival in Roubidoux Park. They have invited statewide Missouri CVMA members to come to Waynesville Roubidoux Park and expect up to 500 members to be in attendance for this meeting and the Hogs and Frogs Festival. CVMA 4-11 will be sponsoring several events during this festival and welcome all CVMA members and the public to be present during the festivities. (CVMA State meeting is only open for CVMA members).
