“say my name again!” “come on metallia, I just said it!”

For the record, while I do like portraying Lucchini with some degree of sympathy, that in no way means I expect everyone to find him sympathetic. In fact while I do like the character I’m kinda on the fence on whether I should consider him to be sympathetic, at least in the context of the game itself. But writing sympathetic villains is kinda fun, and I feel like Lucchini at least can be written in a sympathetic light, so that’s what I attempted.

They talk about some fucked up shit, though.

First of all, I kinda knew what I was getting into before I played it, so it didn’t phase me as much as it probably would have if I was caught off guard. I mean these guys are the same people that gave us CAPTAIN GORDON, DEFENDER OF EARTH!!!!! and also some series called Disgaea I guess, so I knew going into it that it would probably be Fetish Anime: The Game(TM) and I was mostly right. But I still enjoyed the story for the most part. I was honestly surprised that the game somehow managed to get me to feel bad for Metallia and make me want to get revenge on her behalf despite everything she did up to that point. And she was absolutely unlikable at the start of the game. Is it good storytelling or am I just an easily manipulated problematic mess? ...Probably both.

One thing that really amused me about this game, though, is that--spoilers by the way, if you even care--Furry Saika Totsuka turned out to be Furry Goro Akechi all along. I mean in hindsight... yeah, they foreshadowed the hell out of it, but I still call bullshit on that. How did this pipsqueak kill an entire village? I know he can see into the future and all, but you’d think a stiff hoof to the jaw would take him out easily.

But now, especially since Team Four Star’s Final Fantasy VII Machinabridged exists, a part of me really wants to see an abridged series on this game... solely because I want half of it to be nothing but jokes foreshadowing that Lucchini betrays everyone in the end.

Specifically, I want to see a parody of the scene where it’s revealed that the other witches were playing a practical joke on Metallia, and Lucchini is just standing there like “Well... at least it was just a prank, right?” And the camera slowly zooms in on him as he continues to talk. “I mean... it’s not like anyone got murdered or anything, right? Like, how fucked up would that be, right? Aha... Ahaha... Ahahahahaha... ha... ha... ha......... ha............ cough......... ha......” And then he starts sobbing for a second before the scene quickly focuses on someone else.

Visco is still best dog-princess. Thanks Nippon Ichi Software for this awesome video game. Now, just add her in the Disgaea rooster as a DLC along side with Metallia the Swamp Witch (already in D2). Metallia needs her waifu friend back!
