With a head full of ideas but with no way of communicating what it is I actually want to do lead me to having a tutorial with David.
This tutorial stripped back my ideas and focussed on what it is I am passionate about. My dissertation is an obvious starting point to look at. although my topic is rather usual for a graphic design research task, it does hone in one two areas of practise - those being Advertising and Brand Design.
Brand design encompasses more than what meets the eye, brand design is more than just a logo which has become a term that has been drilled into me since starting my degree. What I love most about this area of practise is the experience one has when they are under a brand.
Airlines create an aesthetic that shapes who they are - it becomes their brand, and it is this that we the consumer experience and draw up whether we like or dislike the brand.
Having spoken to David it has given me food for thought. With an idea in mind, it soon stemmed into three briefs under one umbrella.
Research, and further analysis will allow me to think about these briefs more, looking at what is required in order to create experiences people will appreciate and remember.
