Immersive Zombie Experience
So, last night, I went with a bunch of friends to Hackney Wick in London. We had to wait under a grotty railway bridge, which was dripping green slimy water onto our heads, until an actor dressed in army fatigues and wielding a baseball bat came and rounded us up. Two of my friends were whisked off into the back of a Land Rover and we had no idea whether this was for real or not.
Giggling nervously, we stood to attention as we were shouted at to do. Before long it was our turn to be rounded up into the back of the Land Rover; it was pitch black and we had strangers in there with us. Feeling very disorientated, we arrived at an unknown destination and were filed  into a 'briefing’ which involved watching videos about the Arizona virus which we, as recruits, were being trained to contain.
A quick change into jump suits and we were off. The next hour contained some of the funniest and scariest theatre I’ve ever experienced, along with an awesome Virtual Reality zombie killing spree. Feeding a chained-up zombie with a human heart was not on my bucket list, but hey ho, I’ve done it now!
Absolutely brilliant fun, but not for the faint hearted. Thank you Virtually Dead for a fantastic night!Â
