Networks today are complex to manage and deploy. Any disagreement?

Would somebody please explain to me why it still takes weeks to bring up a new application with its network environment? How long does it take to change a topology, to introduce a new network appliance or to isolate a problem?

Long. Too long. Partially due to the fact that networking is intrinsically hard. Partially because your entire infrastructure runs on top of a shared network… and you don’t want things to fail. At the same time business wants agility to increase productivity.
