Mother 3 Localization Hell
The Nintendo Switch has become a bloody joke
Still no GameCube games on Virtual Console after 18 years.
No Nintendo DS or Wii 1 games despite how the Wii U had no problems with either of the 2 at all.
Even Nintendo can't get their own Switch games (e.g. Princess Peach: Showtime!) to run at 60fps from 2021 onwards.
Nintendo Music, an app that requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, isn't available on Nintendo Switch.
They never released more than 2 Home Menu background themes. (The 3DS themes were in the triple digits).
The number of competent games that have touch controls can be counted on 2 hands, possibly on 1 hand.
The docking functions don't work if the Switch thinks the USB-C cable doesn't charge fast enough.
Lacks 4K. Nintendo is notorious for failing to predict future TV trends. Wii 1 legendarily embarrasingly lacked HD, Wii U lacked 3D (let alone 4K), and now this.
I shall now proceed to see how hard Nintendo is going to mess up Nintendo Switch 2 in the same ways.

Something odd that Nintendo didn't utilize with the GBA-compatible DS models was multiplayer. I know the DS basically use the stock GBA software to play those games, BUT I still think it would have been cool to run it via an emulator of sorts, and allow the DS wireless to emulate the GBA link cable, or at the very least the GBA wireless adapter. If this was the case, the DS/DS Lite would be one of the best ways to play GBA games today! This was also something underutilized in Virtual Consoles, both GBA and others. Kinda wish Nintendo had done more with this, but I suppose hindsight is 20/20 in a lot of ways.
Nintendo fan's main argument against emulation is "you pirate because you're broke. You just want Nintendo to make all their games free."
No, this is not the case. If Nintendo actually sold these games at a fair price, I'd be legally purchasing them. Most of us would. There's a huge backlog of games Nintendo could put on the Eshop, but they just refuse to do that.
Second-hand stores are not always a reliable place to find older games. Most people won't be willing to part with their best games by donating them to a store. Most of the time you're just gonna find shovelware sports games there. You're only gonna find an actually- good retro game shop if you're really lucky.
And sometimes you'll find a mini mall selling you bootlegs of them, like that time I got scammed on that fake copy of Mario Vs Donkey Kong that didn't even have a save battery in it.
If Nintendo just simply brought back the Virtual Console or made some digital game launcher client similar to Steam, nobody would have a REASON to emulate.
Yeah you're gonna find a few brokies emulating newer games, but the majority of the time it's people who are given no other option to play older games that aren't being sold anymore.
I wanted to find a way to preserve the Wii U eShop Virtual Console. So this past weekend I screen captured EVERY trailer for every game that had one! Already started to upload them to the YT channel for all to enjoy and will be posting more batches throughout the week. This was a fun challenge and a blast to rewatch all those trailers! 🍿
