I found my favorite artist on tumblr in this random comics section and I'm so suprised and happy, I love the groove and htmlflowers
i had a super weird day today! first i found someone’s purse with their whole entire life in it under the manhattan bridge, and managed to give it back to her in the same place. then i saw a really tough-looking one-legged cyclist. then i witnessed the aftermath of what was either a really violent arrest or a really horrible accident, or both. then i somehow made it to work, and received the amazing htmlflowers book i feverishly demanded (using money) from spacefacebooks! it’s really gorgeous and exciting, you can tell even in these shitty pictures i took.
also recently i saw the old asian transvestite bike guy again. he was cranking up the bridge on that tiny little bike, dude is strong as hell! don’t make fun of him OR YOU’LL GET IT FROM ME, if he doesn’t fuck you up first.

The book is a huge combination of comics work, one-off drawings and your tattoo work. How did you go about refining everything down to go into it?
It was pretty straightforward really. Most of it’s colour stuff that I couldn’t afford to print solo. I felt like I knew how I wanted the book to look but I took my time putting it together and failed two deadlines I set for myself. Once I’d collected all the work I pored over it a couple of times and then I asked Simon [Hanselmann] what he thought. He wanted one other piece called Madame Spongebob to be in it, but that was burned in a house fire sadly.
