Exploring immersive experiences as the future of briefings.
Virtual (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are referred to as immersive technologies, enabling one to experience a simulated reality firsthand. This can be applied to enhance situational awareness, support decision-making, and provide action-oriented early warning.
The Department is exploring the use of VR and AR as supplemental material to expand the perspectives available to Security Council members, UN officials and others, to experience a conflict zone they are deliberating on.
