Virgil Abloh Archive Air Jordan 1 Alaska
The Air Jordan 1 Alaska from the Virgil Abloh Archive is one of the most talked about sneaker drops of 2026. It brings back the Off White x Air Jordan 1 from 2018 that was only sold in Europe.
This release is also the first sneaker from VAA led by Shannon Abloh.
The shoe will retail for 230 dollars. It will release through VAA World’s Fair events during March and online through Canary Yellow, the platform started by Virgil Abloh. A wider global release is set for April 3.
Back in February, email sign ups for the drop opened but are now closed. VAA also dropped a limited book on March 5, which is still available for pre order.
Raffles for the Fragment Union Jordan 1 are starting to pop up, and some of the biggest sneaker drops of the year are finally happening after months of waiting. Still, one of the most important releases of early 2026 is the return to the world of Virgil Abloh with the VAA x Air Jordan 1 Alaska.
Abloh’s The Ten collection and his take on the Air Jordan 1 are now seen as some of the most iconic designs in sneaker history. Since his passing, many have wondered how Nike would continue that legacy. In 2022, a post release Blazer pack gave a small look at what was next. Then in Paris, the Virgil Abloh Archive showcase gave fans another preview, including a special Air Force 1 Low given only to staff.
Now, the Virgil Abloh x Air Jordan 1 Alaska is the first wide release from this new chapter. The shoe brings back the 2018 Europe exclusive look, with the same offbeat design details. You still get the loose branding, layered panels, blue stitching, and the orange tag on the side.
One big update is the packaging. The box has a cut out design that shows a clear plastic layer inside, along with a booklet of Abloh’s work. The cover reads “MODERNISM IS NOT NEW.”
Right now, the Virgil Abloh x Air Jordan 1 Alaska is expected to release on March 28. Pricing and sizing details have not been fully confirmed yet. Keep an eye out for more updates as the drop gets closer.

Nike Celebrates Virgil Abloh’s Legacy with Codes, Europe’s First Virgil Abloh Archive™ Exhibit
Nike and the Virgil Abloh Archive™ are unveiling Virgil Abloh: The Codes, the first large-scale European exhibition dedicated to one of the most influential designers of the 21st century. Opening September 30 — Virgil’s birthday — the 10-day exhibition will be staged at the Grand Palais in Paris.
The showcase honors Virgil’s creative legacy by highlighting his long-term partnership with Nike and the design methodologies that defined his practice. Known as his “Codes,” these principles made his work — from The Ten with Nike to projects across fashion, architecture, music, and art — instantly recognizable and widely adaptable.
“The Codes exhibition kicks off our commitment to bringing Virgil’s legacy and creative process to the creative community and beyond. I am most grateful for Nike’s continued partnership in this important work,” says Shannon Abloh, CEO and Managing Director of Virgil Abloh Securities. “Sharing his personal collection, unfinished work, and magnum opuses with the world is a powerful way we honor Virgil’s deep belief in access and collaboration.”
Curated by Chloe Sultan and Mahfuz Sultan, the Paris edition builds on the 2022 Miami debut, expanding to trace Virgil’s practice across apparel, footwear, architecture, advertising, and more. It also highlights his collaborations with artists, athletes, and designers, reflecting the ethos of collectivity that shaped his career.
Alongside the exhibition, Nike and the Virgil Abloh Foundation will host publications, public programs, workshops, and activations — from surprise athlete and designer conversations to DJ sets and screenings — offering deeper insights into Virgil’s philosophy and creative community.
“The Codes operate as the soul of Virgil’s legacy; they are at the heart of the Archive,” says Athiththan Selvendran, COO of Virgil Abloh Securities, Chief Creative Officer of the Virgil Abloh Foundation, and Director of the Virgil Abloh Archive. “They remind us that collectivity and accessibility should remain central to collaboration and creative expression. This is how we keep his legacy alive.”
Virgil Abloh: The Codes will run from September 30 through October 9 at the Grand Palais in Paris. Learn more at virgilabloh.com.
