âWe need more blankets!â
âI think thereâs more in the closet,â Rey said, popping out from under the blankets already piled on the floor just long enough to point at the closet in question.
âCould you actually tighten these ropes a bit? They are actually hurting me the way they rub against my skin.â
Rey barely acknowledged the pilot, though her head tilted slightly in her direction at the comment. It was certainly not the request she was expecting. And who was she to deny tighter ropes?

The womanâs voice pierced through the overwhelming urge Rey had to finish the fight -- to win. Sucking in a ragged breath, she lowered the blaster, taking a handful of steps back as she dragged herself from that mental cliff. Most of that nearly undeniable desire had waned, but she could still feel it just below the surface, too close still, as she watched their would-be attacker take off as best he could.
Running a hand across her face, she couldnât quite bring herself to look at Kay. âThank you,â she muttered, upset that sheâd so nearly lost it.
