M ur gonna make me cry smh. i’m so glad to hear that cos i do put a Lot of effort in exploring (as realistically as possible) the effects of what five went through which is a Lot tm but i also worry that it gets too heavy and bleak but like????? he’s depressed among other things and i don’t wanna downplay any of it. i try not to lay it on too thick and focus on other aspects of his life too and hearing i got the balance right is so validating hsifdbcfsjcubnj thank u sm ;-;

It hadn’t been discussed since Ben had been capable of holding conversation with his siblings (Klaus excluded since he was always able to talk to him) and he wanted to be delicate around Vanya for a while. How could he bring it up until he was certain that this wouldn’t lead into a disaster? In all technicality, he wasn’t sure that it wouldn’t but, he had to bring it up. The others had gotten the chance to. 

𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐠𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬.  they have been over this so many times.  every year,  it was the same old,  same old.  no way they were going to risk losing another of their own.  ben was too much to handle.  vanya?  she’d be dead in an instant.  she wasn’t like the rest of them.  it’s too bad,  but all diego can do is make sure she doesn’t meet the same fate as ben.  not so young. 

                    at the mention of klaus and newfound hobbies,  diego felt...  insulted.  there is no defending his brother’s habits,  but that was beyond the point.  imagine the position klaus must be in.  he didn’t ask to be able to talk to the dead.  the responsibility that power held...  diego wasn’t sure if he would be able to handle it.

                     vanya definitely couldn’t.  sure,  imagine being the only kid in a house full of ones with extraordinary abilities.  and yet,  you don’t.  you don’t fit in.  you don’t get to play with the rest of them.  diego never wanted to be special.  he was over it now.  but he was cheated out of an actual childhood.
