A bridge to far. I made a new bridge for this viol to spread the strings apart at that end. This gives the bow more space to work each string individually without striking the others. The wood used was Blackwood for the original,a hard wood ,and the new one was European Elm ,a bit softer but works good. I reset the bridge position too and I now get a stronger sound and more even tone across all 6 strings.
