like many other greasers, his home life isn’t the best but he manages. he only has his mom who is young due to him being conceived during her teens. his dad was never in the picture and he already made peace with that and would rather not meet his dad.
his mom works at the seafood restaurant to get by. peanut could enroll in bullworth due to his grandparents’ funds for him. his mom saves up money for peanut to use for college, that’s what she always wanted for him.
he’s romani-italian. during his mother’s pregnancy, her family moved to USA so he’s born and raised in new coventry.
he doesn’t speak italian all that well but he understands them enough to get what other greasers (esp lefty) are saying.
he doesn’t see himself as handsome, he’s very insecure about his physical appearances especially due to his unassuming height. despite this, he thinks his mother is very beautiful; vance had to remind him that he has her face.
because of his insecurity, he takes really great care of his hair for his source of confidence boost. sure he’s not as obsessed as vance but he really tries to take care of them as best as he could.
he’s very close to lola and would defend her when others would talk shit about her. yes he sorta had a crush on her but it’s complicated.
him and lola were childhood friends. lola enrolled in bullworth first and a year later was surprised to see johnny bringing peanut and says he’s a new addition to the gang. lola acted as if she didn’t know him and while peanut was hurt, he still played along.
he looks up to johnny (figuratively and literally) as he saved him from bullies back when he was a freshman. afterwards, he wanted johnny’s attention and care more than anything, him getting to be the greaser’s second-in-command was truly an honor and he would rather die than let johnny down.
johnny trusts him more than anyone in the world. peanut is the only person he could be himself without getting judged, and really it’s nice to not have to watch his own back every time.
he really enjoys doing art. he keeps a small sketchbook in his pocket to draw in his free time. which is why he’s always so pumped during art class, not only because of ms. phillips but also because he genuinely likes doing art.
his sketchbooks mostly comprises of sketches of johnny. peanut doesn’t realize it but he really is his muse; every time johnny does something, peanut itches to get his pen or pencil out and just scribble away. many of his johnny’s art is him doing mundane things like smoking or reading.
he painted sunsets for norton. norton cried afterwards, touched.
he’s the main tagger of greasers due to his steady hands. he could do more complicated graffitis or even murals if he wants to but he mostly does tagging just cause it’s fun and quick.
he mostly listens to post-punk because that’s what his mother likes but he also listens to rock and roll and blues due to his friends’ influences.
he carries walkman around everywhere, it was his mother’s.
he dances. he’s not amazing or horrible by any means but every time there’s music he enjoys, his body just moves.
the reason as to why tad has a vendetta against peanut is because he destroyed some important things in the spencer’s warehouse for shits and giggles and that led to tad getting hurt (worse than usual) by his dad. of course peanut is unaware of this but tad still wants vengeance.
he's not a cry baby per-se, but he does get frustrated easy and so he tears up quite a lot.
he has a tramp stamp that says 'Finché c’è vita c’è speranza', he got them while drunk and vance was egging him on.
he’s closeted bisexual. funnily enough, it wasn’t johnny who was his awakening—it’s ricky.
of course he notices that he likes johnny in more ways than what friends should, but before, it was ricky. and he was SAD when he found out ricky had a girlfriend. when ricky was dumped, he already moved on to crushing on johnny so
one day, he will realize that his devotion towards johnny is destroying him. and on that day, he’ll be terrified because he truly don’t know who he was afterwards. it’s like johnny was a part of him already, and it scares him because he don’t know what to do without him. but that’s someday.
