If I kiss you now, will i be free of my regret?
I listened to this song while making this drawing of Grant and Vincent.
=========================
The last time they met, how many years have it been? Ten, twenty, or half a decade?
After enduring the rage of his father, Grant followed his family to the big city, leaving everything behind, from breeze of the sea, the smell of lemon, the sight of the boy to whom he almost confessed his feeling.
Life was not all great as the tales from those people, but Grant got the gift of a businessman. He rose from the bottom to the top of the chain.
Maybe as they said, the higher you climb, the harder you fall. Therefore, falling is never an option for Grant. He could have come back to his home town, to the one he loved, but alas, there were work to do, just how convenient it was for him to avoid the past.
Years went by as he stayed with his wife, the one he did not love, and his son, who should never let him down. He might have got everything that everyone wished for, but he still longed for something that was kept locked deep inside his heart.
As the waves whispered rhythmically with the windchime that greeted him in, he finally met Vincent, and his wife. Vincent seemed to love his wife, he gave her the smile he once gave Grant when they were young, even the wrinkles could not hide it. Maybe it was a mistake for Grant to even dreamed of it. The thought of them happy with eachother was trying to choke on Grant's neck.
While the wives were away, Vincent showed Grant around the house, the collection of miscellaneous things, and the family album he kept in the corner of the bookshelf.
"This here is the day I married Elene, look at how beautiful she was in her wedding dress. She didn't let me see her in her wedding dress, and I was so surprised the tear rolled down my cheek without knowing..." "And this is when we got Ed, such a cute baby wasn't he? We couldn't guess if he would be a bull like me, or an elk like her, but it turned out he looked more like a reindeer gahahaha~"
"And look, I still keep the image of us when we were showing of our trophies, or i should say, the biggest shells we collected on the beach. At least you still had hair then gahaha... Still, it was such a fun time when you were around..."
Grant didn't react to anything Vincent just said. The wind was blowing softly through Vincent's hair, and the bright sunlight that shone through the swaying leaves made him look so dazzling. Grant put his hand on Vincent's, as if to tell him to stay silent, as he leaned in to give Vincent a kiss on his lips...
