tragically davey is the only one getting out on that dance floor buck has No Rhythm No Game and minnie's still on that Thirteen Years Old Type Self Consciousness. davey is out there with wild abandon. I think he leans less structured, more go-with-the-flow. he's a high-energy club music type of guy when it comes to dancing for the most part. but I think he can also pull out a serviceable waltz and maybe some other simple more formal dances if he's got to. he is Absolutely holding a rose in his teeth just look at him

for buck and davey, who have been at this for A While (like 25 years for buck and well over a decade for davey), i think getting a stable and constant source of food and money and housing that didn't require them to ever do supervillain stuff again would just... break their brains. they wouldn't know what else to do with themselves. so much of their lives has been spent just "okay well now we have to be supervillains forever" that i don't think any of them has ever for a second considered "but what would we want to do if we DIDN'T have to be". and they both have equally hard-hitting reasons to almost kind of cling to the villain thing like a security blanket - buck's literally never experienced Normal Life outside the superhero/supervillain sphere, like he's just Never been A Regular Civilian, and davey's on that Sunk Cost Fallacy shit crazy style. on minnie's end she's still so new to this and child-style short-sighted enough that she'd still want to stick to the villain thing for the sheer Sense Of Power it gives her, which surely would never eventually lead to tragedy and ruin

Buck and Davey both started solo (Buck directly to throw off his assigned unwanted role as The Successor To His Superhero Father as publicly as possible; Davey's less forthcoming about how he fell into villain-ing) but have been working as a pair for many years by the time the comic starts. they work really well as a pair in large part because they both build on the other's strengths and cover the other's weaknesses. buck does a lot of wild ideation and experimental tinkering that davey refines and prototypes using his background as a mechanic and handyman; buck's extremely paranoid, prone to getting overwhelmed and sloppy when things go wrong, and tends to obsessively overplan as a result, while davey's quick to pivot and think on his feet but can under-plan because of it; buck's invulnerable but clumsy in a fight while davey's a great physical fighter but has the weaknesses of an average mortal middle-aged man. when she joins up with them after seeking out Buck as a villain-mentor, minnie ends up picking bits and pieces from both of them - impulsive, experimental, makes her own weapons, good in a physical fight, gets sloppy when things go wrong.
