👆🏿👆🏿🆙️ Reposted from @thirstinhowlthe3rd #Repost @atw_brand with @make_repost ・・・ FROM THE DEUCE TO DHABI. Yet another testament to the power of Hip-Hop and urban culture. When these two Polaroids were taken in the late 80s, none of the subjects could have imagined that one day the images would be magnificently displayed in a significant cultural exhibition in Abu Dhabi. Pretty kool that these now iconic shots of the legendary Lo Lifes were captured on the island of Manhattan and are currently on display on an island in the Persian Gulf. Thank you @vikkitobak for sharing the beauty of Hip-Hop and Black and Brown culture with the world. 🌎 ✊🏼 Photo: 1). “Undefeated Mask Men” Forty Deuce, 1989. Black Wayne, Barkim, Rudy Lo, Uncle Disco and Big Vic Lo on the dangerous Deuce! 2). “Connected” Forty Deuce, 1988. Besides “MGV” (Marcus Garvey Village) and “SJP” (St. Johns Place) Lo Lifes’ founders are also composed of money takers from the Bronx. Chris, Rob, Ibbit and Michelobe were those dudes. Rakeem, who originally lived in MGV, was a part of their crew in the Bronx and merged us all together. Moe from the Bronx, Sharief from Kingsborough Projects, Uncle Disco and Big Vic Lo from MGV, and the legendary G George from Saint Johns Place.
