Just Another Day At School || Toph + Astrid
If there was one thing Toph hated the most about school was having to get up early in the morning. Her parents woke her up at 6am everyday and made sure she was properly taken care of before being sent off to school. The young girl hated it, being forced to eat a big breakfast and having no choice in the matter. She just wanted to be a normal kid like everyone else. She yawned and made a loud squeal noise to go along with it to express her tiredness. There was no way avoiding it though, she's the one who protested to go to regular school in the first place. Why am I such an idiot? Ugh I hate mornings. Finally, finishing up eating a bagel, she headed out the door towards the vehicle in which one of the house maids drove her to school in. An awkward silence filled the air as she was driven to their destination.
The silent freshman thanked the maid, and wandered into the school which was surprisingly silent today. There were some whispers and conversations here and there, but usually it would have been louder. Toph stayed near to the right side of the hall, letting her fingers gently slide across the lockers as she walked slowly to find her way to class. Suddenly, she smacked right into something... or someone. Taken back, the blind girl caught herself before she could hit the ground and groaned. "Not again." She directed the comment more towards herself than to the person she had run into. "I'm sorry, I'm not exactly capable of going one day without running into someone." She laughed, not letting her blindness get her down. This has to be the third... no, fifth or sixth person I've run into this week, that's a new record.
Toph straightened up, her heart racing as she awaited the reply of her victim. "It was only a matter of time before I ran into another person." The girl kept joking, trying to make the situation feel less awkward and more comfortable. What if this person thinks I'm some sort of crazy lady? Oh gosh, I really need to watch where I'm going.
