They refer to me as a Viking, and a fighter. But I'm no fighter, and I don't believe that a warrior needs a weapon. I carry a shield to protect myself and others, and I wear the warpaint to give myself strength. I use my strength to build, to create, and to pave my own way through the maze of pre-determined choices that society has laid before me. Somehow, the capacity for violence is seen as the only way to be strong. When molding the leather into shape for a Headdress like Dvalinn, I never aim to make it a completely accurate depiction of a skull. In my eyes, that would be betraying the natural characteristics of the material. Instead, I use my hands to shape the "feel" of the skull, and create shapes and lines that bring to life the energy of the animal. I use dyes to create a natural, primal coloring. I carve lines and runes and patterns into the piece, to breathe magic into it. It's more than just a leather skull: it's a visual story. •✨• I'm thrilled to announce that Dvalinn has a new owner! Soon, @casey.isabelle will be the proud new wearer of this magnificent piece. I can't wait to see her wear it, and I'm overjoyed that Dvalinn is going to a loving new home.
